Beck Binocular Microscope

Binocular Beck No1 microscope with comprehensive accessories and in fine mechanical and optical condition.

Featuring a very unusual Varley type stage. Made in 1867, the microscope is numbered 4640, which according to "Modern Microscope Makers" by Brian Bracegirdle, pub. Quekett Microscopical Club 1996, was made between 1866 #4600 and 1868 #5001.

The large mahogany case that houses the microscope may not be original or it has had a later handle fitted.
